Hunger Strike.

March 31, 2008

Okay, I really hope my momma’s kidding when she told me that she’d only buy me a dSLR when I’m thin by my 17th birthday. But how thin is thin? Gah! I seriously can’t believe that I willingly let myself go on a hunger strike until the 6th of June just to get that fuckin camera.

The other night, I was proposing to her that I’d like to go to Hong Kong after our trip to Boracay to buy a camera and she gave me a flat-out no. I’m just so disappointed because she agreed that we’d go to Hong Kong on August or something. But I figured that it’ll be better to go on my summer vacation. Anyway, I hope she buys me more stuff when I become Ana.
Fuck this is really turning me insane. I can’t believe how far a camera could drive me. Damn it!

All-Nighter.

March 31, 2008

So I almost had no sleep last night. I think I finally slept at around 4 am. And my alarm clock was set to go off at 5:30 am. Luckily, I got two hours of sleep because it was already 5:59 am when I finally woke up and hit the snooze button.

I seriously have no idea why the hell I stayed up until the break of dawn. I was supposed to study for my Principles of Tourism 1 Pre-finals but then I was too lazy. I had a lot of things running through my head. It’s probably because I spent the entire time reading people’s journals and blogs.
This day was pretty okay. Or should I say ‘this day made me somewhat giddy and jovial all of a sudden.’ What happened earlier made me smile. I thought it made me happy. But it only lasted for a while. What to do now? I’m confused.
But I’ll forget about that first. I have a lot to do and figure out myself. Maybe this is not the right time to dwell on things that might’ve hurt or made me happy. Anyhoo. I’m off to sleep.

Social Climbers

March 30, 2008

I know this may sound bitchy, but whatever. I feel like bitching about it tonight. It’s 1:39 am and all I could think of is all of those social climbers I’ve came across.

#1. this girl from my high school. She frequently changes friends and “best friends”. She be-friends the one she thinks are “cool.” Oh, she also changed her MySpace display name to something she thinks is “cool.” Go figure.
#2. This girl who thinks she’s all that. nuff said.
#3. This girl Trish is currently annoyed with. And I’m also annoyed with. Seriously, she’s the biggest dummy. I hate to say this, but really, she is. GAH!
I seriously could go on and on about it the whole night.

Didn’t happen tonight. So we drove up north tonight. All the way to Quirino Grand Stand where the newly opened (though not yet fully constructed) Manila Ocean Park is located. There is a posh restaurant there called Ozeano. My momma’s friend Steve Tamayo owns the place. All the while, my mom thought that it was open already. For, you know, regular customers. So when we got there, we found out that it was the restaurant’s blessing and it’s just for VIP’s and there’s a guestlist. In short, we were not invited. Technically, we were. Because my mother and Steve Tamayo are members of the Flower Club Philippines. And 20 people from the club are expected to show up. So since it was the inauguration, polititians, millionaires, down to celebrities were there. I even saw Senator/Mayor Lim who greeted me with a wave of his hand because he probably noticed my “very amused” face. It was quite funny, actually. I had the same experience with Senator Drillon. But he sort of gave my head a pat and said hello. Haha!

So I’ve seen the rich and famous people all dressed up for a free buffet meal. And Steve Tamayo’s executive secretary keeps on insisting that we MUST dine in for free as well. But since the air-conditioned room is full, we’d be placed at the al fresco. I didn’t want to. I SO didn’t want to. I mean, we weren’t gate crashers. We went there to EAT and PAY. Oh well. Maybe we’ll come back some other time.
Oh and they only let the ones with the blue ribbon in. I was lucky enough to get one. Haha!

Paris, baby.

March 30, 2008

You Belong in Paris
Stylish and expressive, you were meant for Paris.
The art, the fashion, the wine!
Whether you’re enjoying the cafe life or a beautiful park…
You’ll love living in the most chic place on earth.

Boo. Whatever.

Ever since the big hit of the TV series “Gossip Girl”, everybody seems to be Gossip Girl Fanatics. Claiming that they know everything since they’re watching EVERY episode of Gossip Girl. It’s so funny though. Two or three years before the launch of the TV series, me and my friends have read more than five installments of the BOOK series of Gossip Girl, written by Cecily Von Ziegesar. Clearly, those people who state that they know everything, don’t really know everything. I mean, the book is SO far from the TV series’ plot! When did Blair and Chuck hook up? Hmmm. It’s just so sad. The TV series destroyed the book. Not really. It’s just my opinion. I’d rather read the book.

One of my anti-drugs.

March 27, 2008

Earlier, I went out with Aly and Kerr to pick up a gift for my Mom’s birthday. Since my Mom likes reading, I decided to go to National Bookstore. I was so happy because there was a sale. I asked my Mom if I could pick up a few books for myself and she said yes. I wanted to get lots of books but I’m not the one paying my credit card bills so I just took two. So far, the one I’m reading now is pretty amusing. It’s about hooking up. Me and Aly bought it for fun and have decided to lend it to our friend who REALLY needs it right now. :p I’m going to lend mine to Trish.

Aly bought Candy and the Hookup book too. I wanted to get Candy but then I don’t want to spend too much. So we’ve agreed that we’ll just exchange books. I might buy the A-List books after I finish reading everything.

Holy Days in Bicol

March 25, 2008

Since our college is using the trimester schedule, and not the semester schedule, we only have a short period of term breaks and holidays. In the Philippines, especially the Catholics, we have this week called “Holy Week”. It’s the time that you must avoid sinning, and eating meat. It’s basically repentance.

Anyway, I considered the holy week my hell week. It was fun but it was so stressful. The holiday started on Wednesday afternoon through Saturday. So me, mom, and my brother along with our relatives went to Bicol. I think it took us about 8 to 9 hours to get there. Along the way, we also visited churches to pray the stations of the cross. I believe that’s called Visita Iglesia. We started in Quezon and our last stop was at the Basilica. (Where I came across my FILIP13 classmate, Bianca.)
First off, after lunch at Shakey’s, we drove to Naga and dropped by CWC, also known as Camsur Watersports Complex (http://camsurwatersportscomplex.com) to check out the place. It’s a nice little place. It has a manmade body of water where you could go wakeboarding and kneeboarding. And at the side, there’s a pool and a skatepark. My cousin and my brother told me they have ramps and pipes and all that. It made me so excited!
Then off we went to drive over to Albay to see the famous Mayon Volcano and Cagsawa Ruins. Mayon Volcano is famous for its perfect cone shape and it’s an active volcano so it might erupt anytime. :| And the Cagsawa ruins is the buried church. We took a few photos and used some optical illusions. We had fun shooting them. :)
Then we drove to Buhi, where my tito grew up. There is a lake there called Buhi Lake where the smallest fish, aka Pandaca Pigmaea could be found. We had dinner there since it took us two hours to get to Albay from Naga and it took us a couple of hours to get to Buhi.
We stayed in a hostel in Buhi after having dinner at my tito’s relative. On our second day, we went back to Naga to go wakeboarding in CWC. It was all our first time and it was fun. Even if we fell! I fell twice. First, I fell in the middle of the water! And it was quite scary because there were lots of wakeboarders passing by. I might get hit. Haha my momma was getting nervous. It was funny, actually.
Then around 6 pm, we left for Daet to visit my tito’s other relatives. I heard that Daet is filled with gold so there are miners around the place. After sleeping at my tito’s relative’s hotel, we woke up at around 4 am to get ready to leave. On the way home, we stopped at Kusina Salud for some lunch.
After a few hours, I felt my muscles and my whole body aching. It was because of wakeboarding. It’s tiring, but fun! I can’t wait to go back to CWC! :)

Realizations

March 24, 2008

My laptop’s clock says 11:31 PM. It’s a Monday night and I am very, very tired. I haven’t really had a good rest over the holy days since I went to Bicol with my relatives. (Will blog about Bicol soon.)

Anyway, I am really stressed. And maybe a little depressed, frustrated, and disappointed too. It just sucks. Everything sucks. And I hate it when I let things get to me. I hate it! I just realized what I’m supposed to do: It’s to make people happy and never be happy.
I hate it. It feels like I do not have the right to be happy at all. It’s sad, really. I hate things that I have no control over. And one thing’s happiness.
I feel alone.
I think it’s better to die now. So I can watch over the ones I love and figure out what will make them happy. And just forget about myself forever.

Banaue!

March 16, 2008

I don’t know how to start my story about our 3-day stay in Banaue. Haha. First, the bus ride was really butt-aching. Haha and we kept on sleeping on the bus and when I’m awake, all of a sudden, people at the back part of the bus would be noisy – because we’re laughing and cracking up some jokes. We took lots of photos too especially when people are sleeping. :) ) So it was a ten hour drive all the way from Manila. We arrived a little earlier than expected. We rested for a while and I was so thankful we didn’t get the haunted room! When we got inside our room, I found a door connecting to the other room and I found out that Olivia, Riz, Yssa, and Mimi were there. ROOM RAID!

And people were everywhere. We raided rooms. There were prank callers through intercoms and it was hella fun. And some went swimming despite the cold weather. We also went down to the rice terraces. It was more than 500 steps going down and going up. It was really tiring. We rode a local jeepney to get there. It took us about one and a half hour. It was really nice down there and it wasn’t so hard to communicate with the locals because they can speak English since the Americans have colonized the place. But we didn’t buy anything down in that village because it is quite expensive. After the hike, I felt my lungs being tight and I couldn’t breathe – ASTHMA. Good thing Aly got some medicine.
Then we went over to the View Point for a high and nice view of the whole rice terraces. There were also shops there where I bought a shirt, lengua de gato, and choco flakes. We had packed lunch inside the jeepney and we ate there. Then off we went to the market which was just less than a kilometer away from the Banaue Hotel. Yssa and Olivia went to check out what’s in there while Oscar, Aly, and me stayed behind to rest and take more pictures.
The second night was the best. I spent the chilly night with the best people.:) You guys know who you are. I’ll surely miss Banaue. Actually, I’d miss hanging out with the people. Can’t wait for PTOUR2, people!:)
